Dear Thomas: Got your message, and am doing some research on this. John Knapp had 8 chlildren. By way of a lookup in Winona, MN, I know that one son Sylvanus Knapp b. 11/9/1848 died in Winona County, MN at age 12 on 4/4/1860. Jessie the oldest according to census data was born in English Canada, 11/6/1832. I will continue to look, also, William B. KNapp, sixth child, b. 4/1/1846 was born in Michigan, according to 1910 census in WI. When I find out more, I'll let you know, if it looks promising. My 5xGGF, Samuel Knapp, had a son John D. Knapp who could have been born around that time. Samuel married a second time in Jul. 1799 and had a daughter first, then John. Samuel was b. 1737, by the way, and probably would not be having regular children like a younger man. Samuel lived at Warwick in Orange Co., New York, and I believe son John was there at least through 1850. Wish I had more information about him. I need to look for him in the NY census. Tom Cornell
