Barb, You were very kind to relate your conversation with the descendant of William Wyatt. I am also a descendant but thru his daughter Mary Jane Wyatt who m. William Henry Whitaker 10 June 1851 in Manatee Co., the marriage was considered the first in the Co.. William Henry Whitaker is my G. Grandfather, William Wyatt would be my G.G.Grandfather. According to "The Lures of Manatee", William Wyatt was born in Kentucky married "Mary" in Ky. migrated to Leon Co. in 1826. He moved to Manatee probably during the year of 1843, and was considered the oldest settler to come to Manatee, being about the age of fifty. He was known as Colonel Wyatt. The children I have are: 1. William H. Wyatt b. 1816 in Kentucky m. Elizabeth Ann Glazier, 31 Oct 1852 in Hillsborough Co. Fla. 2. Louise Ellen Wyatt b. 1823 Kentucky m. Elbridge Augustus Ware 18 July 1842 in Leon Co. Fla. 3. German Hanse Wyatt b. by 1826 either in Kentucky or Fla. m. Mary Ann Fife 1 Sept 1851 in Hillborough Co. 4. Mary Jane Wyatt b. 11 April 1831 in Tallahasse. Fla. m. William Henry Whitaker 26 June 1851 5. Margaret Wyatt m. Micheal Ledwith( all I know) My concern with the info related to you is that Nancy Catherine Stewart b. 21 Feb 1817 would have been only 14 when Mary Jane was born and also the dates of the other children. I have not been able to connect this family of Wyatt's with Haute Wyatt of Va. but anything is possible. What is interesting is that "she has lots of papers to show". There is probably so little info on these Wyatt's that this could be a gold mine of info. If I can help I will be more than glad to. My wife I plane to be in Fla. next June for my sisters 80th birthday and plane to spend time in Bradenton, and Sarasota trying to run down more info on other members of the family. Again, thank you for putting this info out, this is first I have run into info on this branch of the Wyatt's since I started this project 4 years ago. Dick Wilson
