Is William Finch, JR. on line? Strange as it may seem, I have an elusive Finch relative also. He is my grandfather, John William Finch and he had an uncle who was an interpreter in the high courts of England, named Thomas Finch. He (the uncle) was 103 and still traveling in the 1930-1960 time frame. Only remember my aunt telling about it. Somewhere in the family, either my grandfathers mother or grandmother, married an Indian, because my aunt used to say he was eligible to sign up for the Dawes commission, but his pride wouldn't let him.
