My Knupp's or Canup's, as some have have Anglicized the name, came from Germany as well. They, however, settled in North Carolina. The name Canup is found in at least 2 counties in the 1790 North Carolina section of the Federal Census. Is there anyone else out there who would care to start a new thread on the German portion of this family name? If so----Gruess Gott, and let us begin. Deborah Geilhausen Green [email protected]
