I am researching Jeremiah Knapp b. 13 Jan 1801 Rockland county, NY...d. 28 Apr 1878 Rockland county, NY and Levi Knapp who is possibly his brother. In the Nicholas Knapp Genealogy, their father is listed a Benjamin Knapp b.c. 1857...d. 1822 NYC. According to my research and that of Fred Knapp, this is probably not true. I suspect that his father is Joseph Knapp b.c 1770...d. after 1834. He lived in Rockland County, NY at least between 1790 and 1834. Joseph's father was also Joseph b.c. 1750 d. after 1802. Does anyone have any information of any of these people.
