While we are on the subject of JOHN KNAPP's....my GGgrandfather was a John KNAPP, b. 3-31-1856 in "Pennsylvania".....his parents according to his death cert., info provided by a hospital nurse, were JOSEPH and GERTRUDE KNAPP.....census records for John state that his parents were born in NEW YORK, and that John himself was born in Pennsylvania......family history claims him to be from WHISKEY ISLAND, ........a KNAPP family from WOLFE Island, another name for Whiskey Island, one of the Thousand Island chain in Lake Ontario, census records for this area claim a John b. 1856, son of a FREDERICK KNAPP, son of a JOHN KNAPP, b. around 1800.......John b. 1856 married, lived and died in Johnstown, Cambria Co., Pa., died in 1932, married to Katherine HALE........anyone have any leads for me??.....ANY help appreciated......thanks....Joe
