I've just got to join in on the John Knapp messages! Here's another John Knapp for which I am looking for. All I know is that he is the father of Simon/Simeon Knapp. He is listed on on Simeon's death certificate as born in Germany. No mother is listed. Simeon is listed as born in Maryland. From census records and death age, Simeon was born between Feb and Oct 1830. One census listed Simeon as born in Pennsylvania. Simeon m. Lydia Houghton in Ionia Co, MI, in Dec 1857, and died there Aug 2, 1898. Do anyone of you have any clues to this John Knapp? It is unknown is Simeon had any siblings. The marriage was witnessed by members of Lydia's family.
