I am writing to you to see if there is any possible connection between my ggrandfather, John A. Knapp, and your line of Knapps. All of the information that I have on my great-grandfather is his name, John A. Knapp and a copy of his marriage liscense. He married Nancy Ann Clay Long on 25 Dec. 1881 in Montague Ct., TX. This was her second marriage. The 1910 Census (Erath Ct., TX) on my grandfather, John Thoms Knapp, states that both of his parents (John A. and Nancy) were born in Georgia. Rumor has John A. immigranting from Germany in the early 1800's but we have no proof. John Thomas was born on 3 Mar 1883 and was the only child to John A. and Nancy. John A. must have died around that time because Nancy Ann married John Powell Morgan in May 1884 in Montague Ct., TX--her third and last marriage.
