    3. Hi folks... I wanted to share something with the list and hopefully with some Knapp's who would find this information helpful. And who knows...maybe it will turn out to help my search in the long run. I have been involved in the research of my Knapp line for over twenty years now. We have traced our line back to Thomas Knapp who married "Martha" and who lived out the last years of his life in Fabius, Onondaga County, New York. He died around 1823 there. Living in Fabius with him and his family at the same time was Nathaniel Knapp. He is listed in the 1820 census for Fabius. A check of the deed records for Fabius shows that he and his wife Eunice were involved in the sale of some land in Fabius in 1822. This is undoubtedly Nathaniel Knapp who married Eunice Wright, and who was the son of Hezekiah Knapp and Hannah Ketchum. My information is that it was never certain that all of his children were born in Scoharie County, New York. This indenture and the census would indicate that at least those children born between around 1820 and 1822 were born in Fabius, New York. I have different sources that say that after leaving Fabius he lived in either Tioga County, New York, or Tioga County, Pennsylvania. Records prior to around 1850 are scant for Fabius as they were lost in a fire. But I think that because my Thomas Knapp and his family lived in Fabius with Nathaniel and Eunice Knapp that they were related and I am quite certain that I can rest assured now that my Thomas is from the Nicholas Knapp line. Our family's current theory is that our Thomas Knapp is a son of Thomas Ebenezer Knapp and Lois Newcomb Bearse. That would make him the second cousin of Nathaniel Knapp and could explain why these birds "flocked together" in Fabius New York for a while. Any information on these folks, or polite and constructive critiques of my theory, would be most welcome and appreciated. Thank You, --Wyattt Knapp--
