I have a James Knapp born between 1810-1820 in England. He married Ann. I don't have her last name. Their children were James John Knapp born about 1840,Martha Ann Knapp born about 1842,Matthew Knapp born november 10 1844 and he married Charlotte,Emma Knapp born about 1847,Henry Knapp born 1852 and Robert William Knapp born about 1854,all in England around or in London,Now Matthew and Charlotte had a son named Matthew James who was also born in England but he ended up in Canada after a bar fight where he had thought he had killed someone.He had not but wasn't to know that till later.Since his father Mattew was into importing and exporting tea and coffee he put him on a boat to get him out of the country.I'm not sure if he came straight to Canada as he had told my grandfather that he had been in aukland New Zealand at one point.Matthew James was known to be well written plus played the piano and harp so I assume he came from money.Does anyone know my Knapp's as I'm at a dead en! d.
