I am beginning to search our family Knapps. I don't know if we tie into the Nicholas Knapp, but hope someone may be able to recognize my family. As follows: Grandpa Percey Colonel Knapp, bn-7 May 1884 @ Reedsburg, Wisc. Died 29 Apr 1962 @ Auburn, WA. Married Gladys Shopshire about 1912 in Adams County, Washington. She was born 20 Nov 1890 at Hooper (Columbia) WA and died 29 Dec 1977 at Auburn, WA. I have obtained Grandpa's birth certificate and found his parents' names listed as Merritt Adelbert Knapp (born 1848 Vermont) and Rhoda Clarissa (Douglass) born 1848 in New York.
