Hi, Cathy, None of the KNAPP names you mentioned are familiar to me, but I'm also looking for a family of Knapps who came from somewhere in New York and ended up in Oakland County, MI and then to surrounding areas. I wonder if we're connected? Do any of these make sense to you? Henry KNAPP + Rhoda ALDRICH (no info, but I'm assuming they might have come from NY, since their son was born there) Their son Philip KNAPP, b. 1820 in NY, d. 1896, probably in MI. He married Louisa PHILLIPS, b. 1820, on 10 July 1835 in Novi, Oakland County, MI. The 1840 and 1850 Census reports both show him in Novi. Their children were: Henry KNAPP, b. 1836, d. 29 October 1894; married Laura GUE on 23 March 1860 Wellington KNAPP, b. 1837 Levi KNAPP, B. 1839 Maria KNAPP, b. 1841 John O. KNAPP, b. 1845 in Washtenaw, MI; d. 21 January 1890 in Rochester, Monroe County, NY (I wonder if this is where the family originally came from in NY?). On 1 January 1867 he married Ellen E. BARDEN, b. 1849. Anna D. KNAPP, b. 15 April 1846, married William Augustus ABEL. I'm descended from these two. If you see a connection, please let me know. These Knapps are really a brick wall! Debra Munn << I have an Abner Pease Knapp(father of my Reuben S. Knapp, I believe) that I have been told is related to Nicholas Knapp and Elinor (Disbrow)(Lockwood). I have found his birthdate to be August 17, 1799...in Cobbleskill, New York. He died in Commerce, Oakland County, Michigan. He married Betsey Archer in Oakland County on December 20, 1819. IGI has his parents as Ezra Knapp and Phoebe Fairchild. Is this right? Is he related to Nicholas Knapp? I really haven't seen proof(except an IGI Record). If anyone knows anything on Abner, please let me know! >>
