This is what I received from a fellow Sturdevant/Sturdivant researcher: See below: The information comes from PEARSON's Book on Albany Settlers- "First Settlers of Albany, New York By Professor Jonathan PEARSON (early settlers from 1630-1800 in Albany): Which includes James STUDEVANT, Mary DEVENANT, Caleb STUDEVANT/ STUREVANT, Sarah CHANDLER, Susanna & Sarah. (see my original message for details of Dates associated w/ these people. I 'm pretty sure this information of James, Mary, Caleb & family is on Family Tree Makers Genealogy Library. I found birth & marriage & Family Group records from the LDS Family Search Site: One marriage record states James & Mary DEVENANT were m. in 1757 in Albany (IGI Film # 537758 & 1985696). A Birth record says James b. 18 Feb 1735 in Ridgefield TWP, CT - James was from Danbury, son of John & Kezia (IGI Batch # 74503070) . They had the following children: Caleb b. 1758, James b. 1762, Polly Mary b. abt 1769, Elisha b. 1774, & Zephaniah b. 1776 (Ancestral File) Perhaps Mary died & James m. Hannah??? ************************************************************ Caleb Knapp, son of Samuel and Hannah Bushnell Knapp, b. 1709, Danbury, etc.; m. Abigail Bracey, 6 May 1735. Children: #6. Hannah, b. between 1734/40;d. by 1784 Susquehanna Co. Pa; m. circa 1756 to James Sturdevant. If anyone can clear this up, I would greatly appreciate it! Jan
