Dear Kim, Is it possible your Jarius is Darius? The census we found him in says he was born in OH and his father was from NJ. We have no idea what his fathers first name was, but maybe because of the circumstances, maybe they were hiding his fathers arrest??? Do you have a date on Jarius? Our Darius was born c: 1840 in OH. Anyway, does anyone know anything about Jonathon Knapp of Huron County OH? He was a soldier in the War of 1812. He is buried in the Axe Factory Cemetery in Norwalk, Huron County, OH. His grave marker says he died July 7, 1852. His wife was Dorcas Knapp. Dorcas died July 24, 1886. They had several children...all of which, I believe, were born in New York. 1. John W. Knapp abt. 1815 - was arrested by the federal government for forging pension papers. 2. Racheal 3. Peter died January 1851, 22 years 4. Sally 5. Morilda 6. Dennis Knapp - was killed in a farming accident 7. Edwin 8. Lydia Ann Knapp (my gr gr grandmother) born abt. 1826 in NY. She married Harvey V. Allen in June 1862 near Olena, Huron County, OH. 9. Stephan 10. Jairus (?) 11. Erastus (?) I don't know much more about them and would love to hear from someone who may be able to fill in gaps.
