Jack Hazen Knapp > > HOWARD CITY -- Jack Hazen Knapp, 72, of Howard City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1997 at Grandview Hospital in Ironwood. he was born Feb. 12, 1926 in Amble to Hazen and Zelma (Wright) Knapp. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Howard City and graduated from Morley High School in 1942. He was a postal carrier for 21 years in Howard City and farmed for his entire life. Knapp was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department of Amble and the Seney Social Club. > Mr. Knapp is survived by his wife Phyllis Ann (Wheeler) whom he married Nov. 26, 1950 in Coral. > Also surviving are three sons and their wives, Darrell and Vickie Knapp, Kurt and Vickie Knapp, Bruce and Denise Knapp, all of Amble, three daughters and their husbands, Louise Perez and friend Mark Maguire of Lakeview, Betty and Kirk Vorhess of Remus, Janice and Rickey Allen of Lakeview. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, two great-grandsons, four sisters, Dorothy and Bill Goldsmith of Andrew, Tx., Marilyn and John Johnson, Meredith and Don Smith, Darlene and Rain Zylstra all of Howard City and three brothers; Wayne and Shirley Knapp, James and Carol Knapp both of Howard City and Dale and Marie Knapp of Reed City. > Funeral services for Mr. Knapp will be held Saturday Nov. 1, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Youngman-McCullough Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. Interment will be in Amble Cemetery.
