I am a newbie to this list and I am looking for some information. I recently learned that my ggggrandfather's full name was Samuel Knapp Harrington...his parents were Isaac Harrington and Sarah Knapp. This Sarah Knapp was b. abt 1762 in Danbury, CT and was married 05 April 1785 in Norfolk, Litchfield Co., CT. She died on 04 Oct 1845 in Valparaiso, Porter Co., IN. She was married to Isaac Harrington b. 10 Jun 1758 in Smithfield, Providence Co., RI and d. Jan 1847 in Valparaiso, Porter Co., IN. He was the son of William Harrington and Berthia Peters. They were the parents of the following children: Samuel Knapp Harrington b. 1796 Broome Co., NY m. Jane Hill Calvin Harrington b. 18 Mar 1798 Broome Co., NY d. 18 Apr 1888 m. Martha Winslow Hulda Harrington b. 02 Feb 1800 Broome Co., NY d. 26 Jun 1886 Thomas Harrington b. 05 Oct 1803 Broome Co., NY Isaac Harrington b. 21 Nov 1805 Broome Co., NY I beleive that they stayed in the Broome Co., NY area until after 1820 since Isaac Harrington is still in the 1820 census. Samuel, my ancestor, spent some time in OH before going to Van Buren Co., IA before 1847. I believe that he might have been in Lucas Co., IA.
