I just read your note and thought I would throw something in here. My grandfather, Josef Schindler's first wife was Teresia Knapp/Knepp, whom census records represent as Austrian. My grandfather claimed at times to be Bohemian or German. He and Teresia were married in St. Joseph, Missouri, which as you may be aware was a debarcation point for European immigrant arriving at the port of New Orleans. I was able to locate a large number of Knapp/Knepps in the Austrian/German groups in St. Joseph as well as Nebraska City in the 1870-1890 period. If that is of any assistance please keep an eye out for my Grandfather and Teresia. -----Original Message----- From: LDSMommy@aol.com [mailto:LDSMommy@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2000 12:49 PM To: KNAPP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KNAPP] Johann Adam Knapp b.1728 Germany Kim, I would be interested to see what you have on this line. I doubt very much that I descend from the English line of Knapps. My mother's maiden name is Knapp and her people have been in Minnesota for over 100 years, as far as we know, so I'm interested in anything pertaining to the German Knapps. Right now, the Knapp line is one of my 'brick walls'. Thanks in advance, Heidi Page LDSMommy@aol.com
