Recently acquired a 1936 magazine entitled "Standby", which chronicles the entertainment industry, mainly radio personalities of the era. On the cover is a ROY KNAPP who was a professional musician. The article on him states that his family was from Waterloo IA where his father was a farmer as well as the owner of the first local movie theatre. Roy's birthday is October 26 but no year is given. He is said to have a daughter age 23, and a son 17, so I would just his age to be in the mid forties in 1936. If this family sounds familiar to anyone, I will gladly send along the article.
