I am researching the following line of Knapp's: Benjamin Knapp born 6 April 1825 in Steuben Co. NY. Possible father - Rufus. Family moved to Ohio in 1833 and was on 1850 Census in Cherry Valley Township, Ashtabula Co, OH. First m to Sarah A. Place on 27 Jun 1847. They had two children: George E Knapp, b ca 1848 OH. He was killed in battle at Cedar Creek, WV. Laura A Knapp, b ca 1850 OH. Laura m -- Guest and lived at Plainville WI in 1907. Sarah d 18 Aug 1853. Benjamin m second Martha Amy Frey 11 Jul 1854. They had two children: Mary A. Knapp, m -- Wisner and lived at Chehalis, WA in 1907 and 1917. Levi C. Knapp, b 13 Aug 1863 in Ashtabula Co OH. This family moved to Elk Co KS in Apr 1875. Benjamin died 8 Jul 1907 in Severy KS and is buried in Twin Grove Cemetery, Greenwood Co, KS. His wife, Martha d 26 Mar 1917. I am looking for other descendants and also need to know for sure if Rufus is Benjamin's father. I have pictures of Levi and his children. Also have! pictures of older people (even tin types), but do not know who they are or if they are this line. Will be glad to swap info or look for Knapp's in southeast Kansas.
