Hi, I was wondering if anyone might have information on Henry J. Knapp? I found his picture in a photo album, with information on the back. It only had his name. On the front was where it was taken, but had been cut off so it would fit in the album. My grandmother usually said if it was an Uncle or some relation, but not this time. I am wondering if he might be related to my Edward H. Knapp from New York and Homer, Michigan. I would appreciate any help. Sincerely, Lynn Crowder

I just read your note and thought I would throw something in here. My grandfather, Josef Schindler's first wife was Teresia Knapp/Knepp, whom census records represent as Austrian. My grandfather claimed at times to be Bohemian or German. He and Teresia were married in St. Joseph, Missouri, which as you may be aware was a debarcation point for European immigrant arriving at the port of New Orleans. I was able to locate a large number of Knapp/Knepps in the Austrian/German groups in St. Joseph as well as Nebraska City in the 1870-1890 period. If that is of any assistance please keep an eye out for my Grandfather and Teresia. -----Original Message----- From: LDSMommy@aol.com [mailto:LDSMommy@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2000 12:49 PM To: KNAPP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KNAPP] Johann Adam Knapp b.1728 Germany Kim, I would be interested to see what you have on this line. Have you looked at this microfilm? This is my line: Catherine Knapp, daughter of Jonathan and (possibly) Elizabeth (Field?) Knapp, was b. circa 1745, probably in Orange Co., NY and d. 30 Apr 1828 in Palmyra, NY. Catherine m. Joseph Todd, Sr., circa 1764, probably in Orange Co., NY. They were parents of ten children. Their oldest child was Joseph Todd, Jr., who along with his son-in-law, Orrison Allen, were the VERY FIRST settlers of Oakland Co., MI. I've been trying to determine if other Knapp relatives followed this Todd family into Oakland Co., MI. I've had some problems trying to figure out Catherine Knapp's parents' family. The published records have not been at all clear on Jonathan Knapp or his family and the original records for this time period seem to be very scarce. Finding a Bible with this Knapp family information in it would be WONDERFUL. Any suggestions? Sincerely, Terri Mulliken Allen

Duncan, the physical description of these Knapps is the same as what the Union Army Roster says of my Jerome Knapp, VT to IL d. Shiloh. Pretty well describes the rest of us too. Tall, hazel eyes fair complection, which is likely why we have so much skin cancer.
Hi Kristin, Thanks for your rely and suggestions, I will certainly try to Robert and also William to see if I can find anything. I also have a photo with the name written on the back Henry J.Knapp do you by any chance have something on him? I have no idea where the picture was taken. Again Thanks, Lynn
