Hi I recently had some new info on my brickwall. Joseph KNAPP and Minnie ROMMEL KNAPP appeared on 1900 Jackson Co. Missouri census. Joseph KNAPP b. Mar 1865 NY (married Minnie ROMMEL abt 1892) Minnie ROMMEL b. abt 1870 in MO Also showing in household is Annie b. 1894 (daughter) Romie, Chris (immigrated from Germany in 1863) (in-laws) Romie, Anna (immigrated from Germany in 1863) (in-laws) I have not yet received the copy of census, looking forward to it. Seaman Knapp is a descendant of Nicholas Knapp. For those of you related to (or descended from) Seaman Knapp, b. December 16, 1833, Essex Co, NY: You might also want to see if you can obtain a copy of "Southern Pioneers in Social Interpretation" edited by Howard W. Odum, copyright 1925 by the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, George Banta Publishing Co, Menasha, Wisconsin. Within this book, you can find confirming information on his ancestry and marriage in this text. There is also clear information concerning the dates of his movement from New York to Iowa, to Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, D.C. (where he died). For those of you with a "Nicholas Knapp Genealogy" by A. A. Knapp, MD., 1953, Winterpark, FL, you will find reference to Seaman Knapp at pp. 428-29. He is listed under reference number H-380.
