    3. Fritz and everyone else: The Betsey Knapp that was born in 1808 has the parents of Joseph Knapp and Eunice Carver. I found in this in the original town records of Leeds, Maine. Off hand I do not know who she married. According to the page there are 17 children and I am related to Joseph born 1790 the forth child. These are my relatives and if anyone would like to know more please email. 1. [KNAPP] EDMUND HERVY KNAPP
    2. Hi, I am looking for the father of EDMUND H.KNAPP, I found my Edmund listed on Orleans Co. N.Y. 1850 census, but I am not sure which of the other three KNAPP brothers also listed is his father. I suspect that it might be ISAAC, born 29 Aug.1795 in Stamford, Delaware Co. NY, but his other brothers are also listed on the same census. JAMES DEBROSS KNAPP,born 23 march 1800 and SILAS KNAPP,born 30 Dec.1797. EDMUND H. KNAPP is the father of my ROSE KNAPP, who was born in NY in 1850. I haven't located where Rose was born yet, but her brother WHITFORD BYRON KNAPP, was born in Orleans. EDMUND married a JANE B. JACKSON. I would appreciate any help you can give. Thank you, Lynn Crowder

    1. [KNAPP] A.A. KNAPP book
    2. Fritz has summed it all up as to what the drawbacks are to getting the A. A. KNAPP book. Here is his informative e mail to me and since I can't say as well as he did, I am sending it to you. I have found the book to be full of errors, but in the long run it gives me names that I can attempt to track down that I would not have known otherwise. thanks Fritz-you are the greatest. Shirley Hi Shirley: (e mail from Fritz) Might want to advise people about what they are getting for their money. Remember all the errors and bad lines it contains. Still a worthwhile puchase. Saves oodles of research time!!! Also they should be advised that here is also a 100+ page, 1956 Supplement to the NKG, which is hard to find. Not many copies in existance anymore. Changes, corrects, deletes and adds data which came to light after the 1953 NKG publication. I have an additional unpublished 600+ pages in 2 Volumes [typewritten], plus a third volume [handwritten] that I hope to get typed up one of these days. Just about have enough Additions/Deletions and General corrections to replace the original 1953 NKG. Been working on this for over 30 years and still finding stuff to cahnge everyday. Just thought I'd mention it. Have a good one, Fritz

    2. Hi, Cathy, None of the KNAPP names you mentioned are familiar to me, but I'm also looking for a family of Knapps who came from somewhere in New York and ended up in Oakland County, MI and then to surrounding areas. I wonder if we're connected? Do any of these make sense to you? Henry KNAPP + Rhoda ALDRICH (no info, but I'm assuming they might have come from NY, since their son was born there) Their son Philip KNAPP, b. 1820 in NY, d. 1896, probably in MI. He married Louisa PHILLIPS, b. 1820, on 10 July 1835 in Novi, Oakland County, MI. The 1840 and 1850 Census reports both show him in Novi. Their children were: Henry KNAPP, b. 1836, d. 29 October 1894; married Laura GUE on 23 March 1860 Wellington KNAPP, b. 1837 Levi KNAPP, B. 1839 Maria KNAPP, b. 1841 John O. KNAPP, b. 1845 in Washtenaw, MI; d. 21 January 1890 in Rochester, Monroe County, NY (I wonder if this is where the family originally came from in NY?). On 1 January 1867 he married Ellen E. BARDEN, b. 1849. Anna D. KNAPP, b. 15 April 1846, married William Augustus ABEL. I'm descended from these two. If you see a connection, please let me know. These Knapps are really a brick wall! Roger is listed as being a Planter & Land Speculator who was born in England and died Sep 20, 1672 in Fairfield, CT. All that I know of Sybil is that she was b. 1655 in Fairfield. 2. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of a William Henry Knapp? William was born in New York on May 09,1851. His father was Edward H. Knapp and his mother was Jane B. Jackson. I believe that either Janes father or grandfather was William Jackson. William married a Sierra N. in Michigan. I am still looking for Williams sister Rose Knapp and any help would be greatly appreciated. Lynn
