    3. Hi: If you go look up any of the Knapp's let me know, I am also looking up William Chase . I have a old copy that my mother gave every one in the family but it had been folded so many times befor she did make copies it is reaal hard to see part's of it. The Genealogy on the Chase Family was by John R or B, Chase, M.D. , of Taunton, Mass. and I would like to know if they have a Copy of it. My Great Grandmother wqas Harriett Chase and she married William KnappSept. 14,AD,1842 . I have the certifies that they both got a copy of and it was written on note paper. On the other side it had on one his name and the other her name. They were married when he was thirty Eight and she was twenty one and the wittnesses were Jerimiah Howland and Heppzibah Howland of Tuseola Twonship County State of Mich. the preacher was John Bosart Minister of the Gosp. My Grand Father William Knapp was a Circut rider after the Civil War and was a Chaplin in the War. He was married to anothe wife that my mother was told died in Canada and had five other daughter's but Fred Knapp only had three other in his records . My Grand Father Knapp was the only son that lived and was the fifth and first child that lived the last three were girls. Any waay if you find any thing I would like to know how much another copy of the Genealogy would cost and any thing else on both families would cost. Oh William Knapp's father was Jonathan Knapp and mother was Ruth ??? Knapp Harriett Chase's Father was William and mother Hannah Wardwell Knapp. Thanks Laura Morrison in Silver Springs, NV

    3. Because I had a large response to the Aaron Knapp book info, I will return to the library and photocopy the pertinent pages and post to the list what I have found. It was a privately printed book by a family member. I doubt it was in circulation. I will get back to you soon. This book is in the history room of the library and can not be taken out. Best, Karin

    3. Stephen Aaron son Moses only has one son listed in the book and his name is Moses and some believe he is not the son of this Moses son of Aron. because of his birthdate. Which would leave Moses without listed children. Patricia Stephen C. Emery wrote: > > There is much confusion concerning the children of Moses Knapp in the NKG > at p. 7 to 8. 1. [KNAPP-L] Moses Knapp FYI
    2. Stephen C. Emery
    3. This is a clip from an article I found on Moses Knap (son of Aron). "Moses Knap and Phebe, his wife, and Thomas Briggs and Abigail, his wife, of Taunton, granted to Shadrack Wilborne of Taunton for (five pounds, 10 shillings), 25 Jan. 1694/5; ack. 30 Sept. 1695 by Moses and Phebe Knap; wit. Thomas Roberts, Nathaniel French, and Hannah Bell. Abigail Briggs did not release her dower rights; recorded 9 Dec. 1717 ([Bristol County Deeds], 11:294)." (See article on Thomas Briggs, NEH&GR Vol. 125, No. 2, April 1971 at p. 88). This is what caught my eye and led to questions about Moses (of the Aron Knap line). -Stephen **************************************************************************** Stephen Emery Researching my ancestors University of Louisville Family names: Emery, Garris, Hektor, Louis D. 3. There is much confusion concerning the children of Moses Knapp in the NKG at p. 7 to 8. Moses (B-8) has been listed with several children that don't seem to belong to his line (see C-20, C-21, C-22, C-23). It has been suggested that these four children may belong to Timothy Knapp, Jr. (C-1). There is also another Moses Knap who was living in Taunton in the early 1700's. He was the son of Aron Knapp. Does anyone have information on this Moses Knap's children? The New England Historical and Genealogical Review (NEH&GR) has several articles on Moses Knapp in its early volumes. I have access to an index, but do not have access to the early volumes. Can anyone check the information in the following articles? vol. 25, p. 189 vol. 37, p. 174 vol. 41, p. 274 vol. 42, p. 99 I don't know if these will shed any new light on the subject, but perhaps there is some good information contained in these volumes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Stephen ***************************************************************************** Stephen Emery Researching my ancestors University of Louisville Family names: Emery, Garris, Hektor, Louis D. 3. I was at the Arlington Public Library in MA today (where I live). There was a wonderful privately printed genealogy written by Shepard Knapp. He is a descendant of Aaron Knapp. I am assuming that Moses Knapp's children are listed there. Since I have not been following that line, I did not copy any info. I can look into the Taunton records for Moses, if you like. (Was it Stephen that asked?) I copied some of the Taunton records for another line but I don't have the Knapp info on any of my pages. K

    3. "Minerva Bucklin (Benchley) b. ca. 1803; d. a widow of insanity in Pawtucket, R.I., 3 Dec. 1879, aged 75 (North Providence/Pawtucket Deaths, 2:188); m. in Pawtucket, Mass., 24 Oct. 1843, Charles P. Knapp of New Haven, Conn. (Arnold, 9:304). "Manerva" Knapp and her sister "Mary" were living with their Aunt Jenks [mother's sister] in North Providence in 1860 and 1870 . . . in 1865, as "Minerva Bensley," she was there with her sister Clarissa Wakefield (wife of Warren Wakefield)." (See NEH&GR, Vol. 142, July 1988, at p. 288-89.) Minerva was the daughter of Samuel Benchley (William2-1, RobertA-B) and Mary Peck Bucklin. They married in Rehoboth, MA on 13 Mar. 1794. Question: I read this today. Does it fit into anyone's family line? -Stephen ***************************************************************************** Stephen Emery Researching my ancestors University of Louisville Family names: Emery, Garris, Hektor, Louis D.
