    3. I don't see John and Catherine (Hale) Knapp in the NKG. John may be in the book without his wife. There are dozens and dozend of John Knapps in the NKG. Please let us know if the death certificate gives you any further clues. I will be glad to check for you. -Stephen On Thu, 4 Jun 1998 [email protected] wrote: > HI > I am hearing about the Nicholas Knapp Geneology lately......how much > info is contained in here as far as number of Generations? 3. Hi all, Does anyone have information on Charles Knapp (Son of John R. and Clarissa (Knapp) Knapp)? He is listed on p. 279 in the NKG as descendant H-846. The NKG lists him as married to Anna Gregory. I believe this is the wrong information as the Charles who married Anna Gregory is probably the son of Isaac B. Knapp (as noted in the 1956 Supplement on p. 58; See also I-917 in the NKG). Charles (son of John R.) is my second cousin five times removed. Charles (son of Isaac B.) is my third cousin four times removed. I would appreciate any information that anyone has to shed light on this mixup. I find it odd that two Charles Knapps married women named Anna Gregory. Sincerely, Stephen ***************************************************************************** Stephen Emery Researching my ancestors University of Louisville Family names: Emery, Garris, Hektor, Louis D. 2. Thanks, I will write to the ones in the district where I live and toil. I am tired of being taxed to death. I called ATT and you should hear the explantions they give, about we are helping to subsidize the people who are so needy. This keeps up and I may be on that list. Spirit

    2. Do you want to work up a means of us all signing and send it to Congress as a group? Be glad to sign. Or do you know how an individual would go about voicing a protest. IS there a phone number or particular address to use? Would be glad to give them a slap on the wrist to show anger. Spirit

    2. It is time that modem users rebel, it will be necessary to get Congress to rescind their order to the FCC re providing 'special funds' for various special interests. First the FCC applied $3.50 tax last year, then raised it to $4.03 Jan 1 '98 = if you don't designate that you have a 'long distance carrier'. Then stupidly, the 'bell' tacks on the $0.53; until you inform them that you have a long distance carrier - which they already know because they pass on the billing for AT&T er whoever. The whole $3.50 is ridiculous, supposedly to cover long distance access; when for instance my AOL doesn't use that connection, they have other faster means - satellites, etc. I asked AOL about the charges, and the reply was: 'we don't pay that kind of tax' in other words they are not involved. Writing FCC does no good; we need to work thru Congress to stop the 'social program'. CEE

I'd be very interested in seeing this page. I have had very little luck getting anywhere with my Knapp line. I noticed that the name deForest is connected with Aron Knapp. This name has been used as a given name in my family and may support some kind of connection with Aron. 1. [KNAPP-L] Aron Knapp/Shepard Knapp
    2. As you know, I offered to return to the library to have a re-look at the book written by Shepard Knapp about his family Memoirs with pages of genealogy. I have gotten the info and I don't know if it holds any keys to his descendants. There is no mention of Moses. (sorry guys) I apologize for not putting this letter up sooner. I have had relations here from Ireland for the past two weeks and some of us know there is a life beyond the net. I guess you guys were getting impatient (some of you, we won't point fingers). LOL At any rate, this is what I have to say. I have photocopied about 17 pages. All the genealogy pages. I have the introductory pages that led to Shepard's writing of the Memoirs (gotten from his grandmother's journal). He has a tree that begins with Jonathan Knapp (1752-1838), farmer of Cummington, Mass. (He was 4th generation from Aaron, who was in Taunton, Mass. in 1643) m. Persis Melvin (1759-1835), daughter of Jacob. (She was 3rd generation from John of Concord, Mass., who was born in 1656). He notes his Knapp beginnings and then seems to run through his direct line. Samuel (1) of Taunton m. May 26, 1687, Elizabeth Cobb b Feb 10, 1670 listing his 8 children and following the line of Samuel (2), Jonathan (1) of Raynham m. Abiah Thrasher. The last birth on this info is 1933. The author of this book was born 1873 in New York. He died Jan 11, 1946. It is a privately printed book and the whole book is typed on a typewriter. There is one page with info on Aron (his spelling) Knapp and other names connected are de Forest and Spring. They appear to have lived in New York. If anyone is interested in the info that I have photocopied, I will forward copies by snail mail, if they send me their addresses. If I was descended from this line, I can only say, I would be interested in the info. I did not photocopy the stories that he wrote about his family memories. I do not remember how long that was but if interested, I can go back and get some of that info. Like I said, it is appears to be one line but has info on siblings and other notes. I found it interesting, even though it is not my line. Also, whomever wanted the Chace/Chase family info. I photocopied the VR's of the births, marriages and deaths of Taunton, MA I suspect, it was Pat. I will forward by snail mail upon receipt of address. Sorry for not being able to get back to you all sooner. I am here, if there are questions or comments. Best, Karin

    3. Hi all, I have "updated" my website with many new Knapp, Hill, Wintermute, and Snover family relatives. I will be adding new information concerning descendants of Simon Hill very soon, thanks to the "discovery" made by my cousin, Beverly Hill. (Thanks Beverly!) Most of my HILL ancestors were from New York and New Jersey beginning in about 1720, with Anthony and Mary (Ward) Hill. Of special interest is the notations from the Revolutionary War Pension application letters of William and Abigail (Knapp) Hill. William was 13 years old when he first served in the Dutchess County Militia. I also have some new information concerning more descendants of Nicholas Knapp and also Jeffrey Ferris that I will be adding soon (another relationship found through my relatives to these two lines). Just this week I found three other relatives (by marriages) who had Knapp ancestries. Please "check over" my work for errors. Thanks in advance, Stephen You can view the newly uploaded page at: http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/scemer01/FAMILY/index.htm P.S. There is an obvious problem concerning the correct parentage of Charles Emerson Knapp. Any help "solving" this riddle would be appreciated.

    3. Thought I'd post information I got from Elk Creek Cemetery, in Elk Creek, NY. I'm not sure it's on the map... it's near Worcester in Otsego or Delaware County. These people are my ancestors, although I'm not sure how some are related. If any one has any info to connect them with any other Knapps, I'd like to know. I would like to know where they came from. Herbert L. Knapp b. 1879 d. 1920 (my g-grandfather) Spouse: Kittie B. Curry, b. 1880 d. 1908 (my g-grandmother) Charles H. Knapp B. 1856 (my father thought this plot was unused and that Charles was actually buried in Worcester) This would be my g-g-grandfather. He married Sarah Hoyt, b. 1853. (This marker may also have been an unused grave as there was no date of death.) Theodore S. Knapp b. 1858, d. 1923 Perhaps Charles' brother? m. Ada V. Chamberlain, b. 1860, d. 1889 m. Mary F. French, b. 1869, d. 1943 Jane A. Knapp, b. 1844, d. 11/21/1914 (Relationship unclear) m. William Gillander Amanda Knapp, b. 1834, d. 1860? m. Mr. Manning
