    1. [KNAPP-L] Frank Knapp,
    2. I am still looking for my husbands father or the family. The only new information I have found is that he worked at the Stockyards in Chicago, and he died there. He had a sister that lived close by with her husband and her husband also worked at the Stockyards. If I have the right sister her name was Doris Miller, no name for her husband though. I was told that he was married to my husband's mother only about five years, and when she moved back to Oklahoma he had already remarried, and had at least one more child a girl. I found out some more information, but it is real personal, so anyone that thinks they may know this Frank Knapp please contact me, and we can discuss it and the personal information can be talked about in private. I thank any and all who have been and is helping me, this is important to my husband. Thank you all very much. Tina Knapp

    3. Phyllis I've been looking for Amos Sr. also so far I've come up empty handed. I got the following information from Janice Oakley. " I did learn, however, that I may have been looking in the wrong county in New York for him. Years ago I was given the info that he was born in Stephentown, NY. I looked in our atlas and found that Stephentown is in Rensselaer County and that's where I did my research to no avail. I have since learned that there once was a Stephentown in Westchester County and it is now called Somers, NY so maybe that is where Amos is from." Tom Knapp

    3. Phyllis, sorry I can't help on parentage of Amos Knapp. But I do have Ezra Knapp, born 1816 Ohio, m. Martha Jane Godbold, June 23, 1842, in MS. Children: Samuel D. Knapp, b. 1846; J. W. Knapp, b. 1846; Mary E. Knapp, b. 1849, possibly others. Ezra and your Amos seem to have been in Ohio about the same time. Wonder if there is any possible connection between these lines?

Please go to my web-site, and check the Reynolds GEDCOM for what I have gotten together. There is also four pages of Knapp family tree's there. And, let me know if you find anything! Go to the USGS geological name server at: http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html Enter Whiskey Island under feature name and New York as the state. you can then click through to maps showing the actual location.
