Sandie, I agree with Shirley. How about the rest of you Knapp people? Dick Wilson
Sandy, I too, like Lynn, am searching for a female Knapp, and can't seem to find any information about her. If I knew her line I too would buy whatever book is available. Or if I knew the name of the database try to glean some information from it. Does anyone know where I can do this? I'm looking forward to whatever you put on line. My missing great-great-grandmother is: Levina KNAPP, b: ca. 1800 to 1810, in KY. She married first: Thomas Holman, b: ca. 1790-1800 in NC. They moved to Saline and Hot Spring County in AR, and had at least two sons, Joseph Holman (b: 1836) and Thomas Holman. After Thomas Holman died in 1844, Levina married a man named Trammell, Also in 1844, an Elizabeth Holman (who may have been Thomas' daughter or sister) married a James L. KNAPP, in Saline Co. AR. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, October 07, 1998 5:36 PM Subject: [KNAPP-L] Unidentified subject! >Hi Sandy, > >I for one would appreciate any information you might >want to put on-line, as I can't find my Rose Knapp >and don't have access to any Knapp Books. Not sure who you think you may have offended. I for one was not. Keep up the dialog! Vince Knapp

Sandie-some people offend easy-pay it no never mind. As long as it pretains to Knapp-who cares. It is nonsense that offends most people Shirley
I am looking for any information on Catherine Knapp, born July 20, 1875 in Ohio. She was the daughter of William Knapp & Caroline Berr. I also need information on Mary Knapp, born June 17, 1883 also in Ohio. I think Mary was the sister of William. Her father was Charles Knapp & Margaret (unknown). Barbara
I hope that I have not offended anyone on this list. It was not my intent to do any harm, I am trying to help others. Sandie [email protected]
Sandie, Just need to know what format you'd like information in. Also, where can one get a copy of the Knapp data base already built? Tom Cornell
Sandie - I have to agree w/the others. Your idea is a good one. I have been stuck on Elizabeth Knapp m Jessie Sarles for quite a while now. Would be very interested in what you and others have to share. Thanks
do we have a state for this group of knapps? or other id? ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Get completely free e-mail from Juno at http://www.juno.com or call Juno at (800) 654-JUNO [654-5866]
Dear Sandra: I, for one, appreciate your offer. Mine is a branch that Dr. Knapp fumbled considerably when assembling his Nicholas Knapp Genealogy. I'd love to see someone take what I have gathered and meld it with other information resources that can be readily shared both within this list and elsewhere. Yours will not be the only assemblage, of course, but I see no harm in having alternatives, either. Regrettably, this list has a few with sharp words and curt manners. A couple of our most helpful members have essentially quit posting because they have tired of being snarled at. I trust that you will not follow that path, too. My line, for the record, is grafted to the NKG at page 17 (third generation), where C-20 has the sub-line "This is uncertain," followed by "ISRAEL KNAPP (doubtful) son of B-8, Moses and Abigail (Wescoat) Knapp." Then comes a series of substantially uncertain dates and names. It is not until page 97, Elijah Knapp (E-249), that I begin to encounter entries that I can validate or correct. I hope to have an opportunity before long to post what I have learned as I also seek more connection with others researching elements of the same line. This may be a bit off of track, but I feel that it is important enough. This is for all of you who may be searching for the surname Knapp. I have come across this name twice in my research, and the connections are quite long. It struck me as odd, though, that there is so much information out there on this family, but no one database anywhere on the net. So, I have decided to collect and maintain a database for just this surname. I will be putting it on line after January 1, 1999. I would very much appreciate any input from other Knapp(Nicholas line for right now) researchers. Also, I would love any contributions of information that you would like to contribute. I hope to have as many links to Knapp info sites, GEDCOM information and other things also. Please feel free to e-mail me with suggestions, and/or contributions. Sandie [email protected]
I have some information to contribute. This is in a Daily Journal dated 1874. Someone just used this book to write the information in. Hi Sandy, I for one would appreciate any information you might want to put on-line, as I can't find my Rose Knapp and don't have access to any Knapp Books. I would buy a book if I knew which line she was from. Thanks for you offer, I think it's great. Sincerely, Lynn Crowder

There is already a [email protected] rootsweb.com which is where we Knapp's exchange our information. There's already a very large data base available (not on line) and information is being exchanged on a regular basis. Best regards, Richard E. Knapp
Lynn What time period is your Rose Knapp. I have one around 1600 and one who married June 17, 1933 so far If you let me know some info on her I will keep my eye open for you.
