My surnames are all in the South, so far: Pike County, AL: HUSSEY, CARTER, REESE, LAW, WILLIAMSON, INGRAM, SANDERS Randolph County, AL: MCCARTER, COOK. DAVIS, HENRY, LEE, WEATHERS, PITTMAN, possilbly USSERY I am not sure where all these people were from, but a lot were GA, SC, VA. Knox County, TN: CLAPP, HANKINS, BOOKER, KELLY, WALKER, BOND, CARDEN The Clapps were from Guilford County, NC. GA - Peach County or somewhere: PEARCE, LONG, ALLEN My husbands surnames (these are mostly from Stanly County, NC, some Union or Montgomery): MAULDIN, SNUGGS, SHANKLE, IVEY, SCHOFFNER, BALLARD, GRIFFIN, WAISNER, MOOSE, LEFLER, LISK, HOWARD/HARWARD, WHITAKER, SMITH, MORTON, BOYSWORTH, HUDSON, ALLEN, YATES His parents have turned out to be third cousins, twice removed (so far). My 14 year old was horrified to find out he is his grandmothers fifth cousin. He asked me if I will check his future wife's family for him (when he finds her) to make sure she is not related to him. I am mostly on some surname and county mailing lists. I check names on search engines when I get the chance and email anybody I find who might be a connection.
