A week or so ago I mentioned that I had another set of possible kissing cousins. The "proof is in the pudding", I received a marriage extract today for a "suspected" great great great uncle of mine. The name James GOURLAY kept creeping up in records, first as a witness to my great grandparents marriage. Next it popped up as someone married to my great grandmother's niece. Sure enough, today I found out James GOURLAY was the son of William GOURLAY and Margaret STEWART, my great great grandparents. James was a witness at his brother Robert Stewart GOURLAY's wedding to my great grandmother Catherine BREMBER in Jun 1858. Catherine BREMBER's sister Mary BREMBER was married to Robert JACK. Their daughter Catherine Ford JACK (my something cousin-gg aunt?). I am not sure how but they are both related to me even if they didn't marry. I hope later I don't find out I married a relative.
