In my Personal Welcome Letter, I make a recommendation about using the RootsWeb Surname Lists. (If you already know how to use the RSL, please just delete this and have a nice day). To Clarify, and help others understand I wanted to add send this on to everyone: (excerpt from a letter to someone else): `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` Have you checked out the RootsWeb Surname Lists at: http://rsl.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/rslsql.cgi These are not Mailing Lists, they are lists of the names people are working on and you can search them to see who is researching certain people, areas... They have the following information available... Surname >From beginning year To ending year Migration Pattern the name of the person who is researching (by nickname, not actual name, it's a hyperlink to be able to click on it and see ALL the names that person is working on). Special Comments people have tried to make. Go to the address above and type in HORSTEAD in the Surname search area and you can see that I am the only person researching that name. Then you will also see that my nickname on RootsWeb RSL is davictor... click on the "davictor" blue hyperlink and you can see my personal information... click on the link that says "see submitter;s Surnames they are researching" (not in exact words but close enough) and you will see all the names I'm working on.
