For those of you who are males with the Kiser surname (or some variation), please consider joining the Kaiser Surname Project at http://www.familytreedna.com/surname_join.asp?code=X21121&special=True&projecttype=S, which covers all surname variations. This involves getting a Y-chromosome DNA test conducted (it doesn't hurt!!!) and submitting the results to the project. We will look for matches to determine the genealogical relationship of the various Kiser families (of various spellings) in the USA, Germany, and elsewhere. I suggest that you have the 25-marker test (or higher) for it to be useful for differentiating families. This is a very exciting new tool when used in combination with resource into historical source records.
