Hi all I am researching a George W. Kiser who was born about 1837 in Unknown County in Pennsylvania. He married Catherine Jane [Maiden Name Unknown] about 1859 or 1860 in Pennsylvania. She was born in 1834 in Pennsylvania In 1860, the family is living in an Unknown County in PA. They had 5 children, born in Indiana from 1865 thru 1876 in possibly Adams County and one born in Pennsylvania. In 1880, the family is living in Allen County, Osage Twp., Kansas. In 1895, George and his wife are living in Marmaton, Allen Co., Kansas and George and Catherine died between 1895 and 1900 most likely in Marmaton, Allen Co., Kansas. Names of their children are: John R. Kiser, born 1860 Pennsylvania Married Clara C. Phillips on May 20, 1883 in Allen Co., KS. Ida M. Kiser, born 1865 in Adams Co., Indiana Daniel E. Kiser, born 1868 Adams Co., Indiana Married Florence G. Zantz George C. Kiser, born April 1869 Adams Co., Indiana Nora Lavina "Vina" Kiser, born 13 Apr 1873 in Adams Co., Indiana and died 13 Jan 1943 in Garden City, Cass County, Missouri. Nora married William Wolford Reid about 1887 in either Allen County, Kansas or Linn County, Kansas. Charles C. Kiser, born 1876 in Adams Co., Indiana. I would like to correspond with anyone who is a descendant of George and Catherine or of their children, especially Nora Lavina Kiser or has knowledge of their place of birth in Pennsylvania. If you know of any direct male descendants of George W. Kiser (those with the Kiser surname), you should ask them to join the Kaiser DNA Project (http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/kaiser) to see if their y-chromosome DNA matches any of the Kiser/Kaiser/Kizer, etc. families currently in the project. A number of these lived in Pennsylvania. Knowing which other families you don't match will save you a lot of research time trying to establish a connection. Finding a match to another family, of course, would be the best outcome. Be sure to look at the y-Results and Patriarchs pages.
