Hello listies, I am looking for: Benedict Geser, born 1819 in southern Germany, into the U.S. 1849, 1852 till 1864 at 347 East Water Street in Milwaukee, WI where he was co-proprietor of the boarding hotel named Kossuth House. According to Chicago City Directory, he is from 1864 till at least 1867 listed as a proprietor of the boarding hotel named Northwestern House at 95 Desplaines corner Carroll in Chicago/IL. In the 1860 Federal Census Benedict Geser is mentioned with his son Carl (age 6 years) and his daughter Carolin J. (age 5 years) and also his wife Barbetha Prier/Prior (born in Hesse-Darmstadt near Mayence). In the documents and records are to find spellings of the surname Geser also like Geiser, Goeser, Kaiser, Kayser, Keiser, Kiser, Kyser, Kyzar. Any help is greatly appreciated and gratefully thanked. Greetings from Germany Rudolf Geser (Chemnitz/Saxony)

They state they are not trying to trace their roots....they just want something to pass on to their children and know where they come from. :) Faye Kizer Robbins "My mother is the daughter of Charles Kiser and Mary Lee Smith Kiser. Mary Lee Kisers grandmother was Mrs. Ben Marvin Betts. Mary Lee's fathers name was Robert M. Smith and her Mothers name was Frances Louise Betts. My mothers name is Pamela Ann Kiser (Smith) and her sisters name is Helen Louise. Hi Joe, My cousin (her grandfather and mine were brothers born in McNairy county in 1876 and 1879) and I spent 4 days in/around McN. Co. and found Absolutely Squat!! I'm Convinced there just Isn't Anything There! She's researched for 10 years, and I've been on their trail for 4, so I give up! (for now, anyway). Am Totally burned out. Did get to hug a Kiser, tho. Lockie is 90, and a descendant of Newton Jasper and a sweetheart of a lady. We're 99.9% certain our line ties into theirs, but can't prove it. Have seriously thought of doing a DNA. The Kisers there have a big reunion every Oct.; we Just missed it. It's always the 1st Sun. We plan on attending next year. You interested in going? Thanks for the updated version of your family; have changed my records accordingly. I have 2 diff. dates for Joseph S., tho; 1864 and 1874. Whatever..... Will be going to the Knoxville libr. on Sat.; can I look up anything Specific for you? There were a lot of Kisers in Blount Co., right next door to Knox. Know anything about them? Take care, and thanks for keeping in touch! Pam JKiser3901@aol.com wrote: > Pam, I have some info on my side of the Kiser/Kizer family. Here is the > info: Father-John Wesley Kiser, b. Pam If you want to check it out go to www.tngenweb.org/monroe Look for the church records and St Paul's Lutheran Church. I may be wrong but I think these Kiser's came into Monroe County with or just after the Clemmers from the Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg County North Carolina area. The Clemmers were of the Pennsylvania (Dutch) group, were, of course, German....as were the Kiser's. I'm sorry, Jim, but my Kiser ancestors were Ohio pioneers. To all subscribers of Kiser-L I've been subscribing to Kiser rootsweb in hopes of finding a connection for my line which goes thru Pittsburgh. Three brothers Josiah C, David O and William immigrated from Bedford County just prior to the Civil war. David and Josiah were in the War and I have the military records from the National Archives. Their parents in Bedford were William and Eliza Waggoner Kiser. Williams line goes back thru Shippensburg Pa and Rev War papers indicate that father and perhaps grandfather Jacob immigrated to Phila in the 1720's. and later went to Shippensburg. Jacob married a Catherine Stambaugh from Lancaster and she was a memeber of a local religious Sect. I know that when the tree brothers immigrated they had a brother to their father William (an Uncle) that went thru Ohio and on to Iowa. His name was James H Kiser. Terry Kiser from Iowa, and I have well documented this part of the family and I am convinced that others spread from the Philia area and may have gone to Va, Kent and even Ala. Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Anyone on this list who would like what I have is welcome to all and everything. I live in South Louisiana and have been to Pittsburgh and Phila twice trying to sort this through. The Germantown Historical Soc in Phila has a lot of information but a detailed through investigation has not been completed. There is much there on Dirick Kiser/Keyser and I find some Kiser spellings as well. It is possible that Jacob who claimed birth in Germantown was related to Charles (Karl) who went south early after immigration. Any clues appreciated and acknowleged. I expect that connections may be established through family Bibles which are indeed scarse and court records, which are hard to decipher. Thanks Jim Kiser 2rhdr1@bellsouth.net I amd currently in New Jersey awaiting the arrivial of our daughters first child.
