    1. [KISER-L] Catherine Kiser
    2. Bob & Judy Carpenter
    3. Hello to all Kiser researchers I'm trying to find information on a Catherine Kiser, daughter of George Kiser, b-1750. Catherine was born in 1789, probably in Lincoln Co., NC, and died in 1832 in Gaston Co., NC. This Catherine had two or three children out of wedlock, one of them could have been my Great-Grandfather John T. Carpenter, born in NC in 1823. This 1823 date was taken from his headstone and also census records. A Bastardy Bond was filed in Lincoln Co., NC on 25 April 1823 listing a Catherine Kiser as the Mother and a Joseph Carpenter as the father. This Catherine Kiser died in 1832 and a male named John Carpenter was discovered living with a George Kiser under an Apprenticeship Bond, dated 7 September 1838 also in Lincoln Co., NC. This same George Kiser had a male between the years of 15-20 living with him in the 1840 census for Lincoln Co., NC. The later George Kiser was a son of Jacob Kiser who was the brother of Catherine Kiser. I'm hoping that someone out there may be able to add to this family and especially this John T. Carpenter. Thanks very much. Hope you have a Very Merry Christmas. Bob Carpenter

    2. Rudolf, Thanks so much for the reply and the advice. I will contact the parish for any possible leads to my Koenigseder/Mittermaier line. You're right that it is a very BAVARIAN link. Wish me luck, and of course - I wish you the same. Linda LaForce McAllen, Texas

    3. Linda, thanks for your answer. The names Koenigseder and Mittermeier sound strongly bavarian! The village Marktl has nowadays the postal code 84533 and I would recommend a letter to the roman-catholic parish there. Tell them your questions.... 2. Rudolf, Sorry, but my Kiser/Keyser line is descended from Charles Keyser (born 1702 died 1778) who came to America from Germany in 1749. He landed in Pennsylvania and his descendents are mainly in the Virginia area. I wish you could help with with my other German line. My mother was Maria Koenigseder born 1922 in Marktl, Germany. Her parents were Franz Koenigseder and Amalie Mittermaier. Her brothers Xaver and Rudl and their children lived in Munich. Any help would be appreciated - THANK YOU .........................
