Peter- You should know that Kirwan is a fairly common name in Ireland. The Griffith's Valuation of Ireland (1850's) recorded about 85 Kirwan households in Co. Wexford. In researching my own Kirwan line I came across a John Kirwan who was born (christened) Aug 12, 1846 in the RC parish of Oylesgate, which is very near to Ennsicorthy. John was the son of Daniel and Bridget Sinnott Kirwan. He had a twin sister Anne, and older brothers Thomas and Peter (also twins, b. 3/9/1835, presumably deceased), Thomas (b. 4/30/1841), and Peter and Michael (also twins, b. 12/26/43). My best suggestion to you would be to concentrate on looking for the marriage record for John and Elizabeth, both in England and Ireland. Best of luck, Chris Kirwan Peter Cousins wrote: > Hi > I have just joined the Kirwan list and new to genealogy and computers so > please be patient. > > I am seeking information on John Kirwan born (gt gt gf) in Wexford Ireland > C.1846 and moved to Liverpool at a later day and Married Elizabeth ??? born > in Ireland in C.1847.
