The Ticonderoga left Liverpool October 24, 1850 and arrived at New Orleans December 3, 1850. I haven't read the whole book yet, but it sounds as though the destination was meant to be Fort Smith, Arkansas, but some went to St Louis, and others further north to Wexford, Iowa. The Fitzwilliam estate in Co. Wicklow seemed to be where most of the emigrants came from.
