I recently obtained from the Dun Laoghaire Genealogical Society a copy of People of Wicklow 1798, The Rebellion, by Pat Power. The book compiles the names, affiliation, domicile, and remarks about Wicklow persons listed in original sources as having participated in the Rebellion. The following Kirwans (only the variant spellings are spelled out below), all of whom were United Irishmen (rebels) are listed: Daniel, Narraghmore, shot on Dunlavin Green Dennis, County Wicklow, John, Rathdown, Sergeant Laurence, Newtown Mount Kennedy Lory, Carnew, Larry? Shot in Ball Alley, Carnew Martin, Addown Michael, Ballyneely Murtagh, Killacloran/Annacurragh Nicholas, Killacloran/Annacurragh Peter, Co. Wicklow Richard, Talbotstown Thomas, Narraghmore, Shot on Dunlavin Green ?, Kilcoole ?, Ballyneely Kirwin, Daniel, Killacloran/Annacurragh, killed in the rebellion Kerevan, Daniel, Baltinglass, Captain, Killed on Vinegar Hill The author notes that the locations listed should be taken with a grain of salt, as they sometimes refer to a battle the named person was in, rather than their residence. That's all the info there is. Best wishes to all... Chris Kirwan
