Hello all, I have just received a note from Bonnybeth who is happily, busily tending 4 month old Kirwan Hyde. Delighted to report all are thriving! Bonnybeth, however, has received a note from Neil Kirwan who potentially was planning a Montana reunion this summer which she has asked me to pass along.... Due to illness of a family member leading to an open heart surgery in Aug. or Sept., he will not have the time to organize a Montana reunion this summer.... I want to accompany this announcement with our best wishes to Neil and family as they all take care of themselves in stressful times! Neil, we will hold you in our hearts.... Now, my branch of the family has a Pot Luck Memorial Day reunion in Tulsa, OK for the Kirwin/Carpenter Clan out of Shelby, IN, Neodesha, KS and Jenks, OK every year and tho they would probably drop their collective teeth to see new faces at this longtime event, I know they would be welcoming at the magic word "Kirwin." Let me know if this is interesting to you and I'll get you the details.... Beyond that, Patrick Kirwin, my "other" cousin had suggested a reunion in Kirwin, KS for St. Patrick's Day NEXT year to commemorate the 200th birthday of our Patrick b. 17 March 1801 in Dublin. Pat teaches English and is often buried in correcting papers, etc. except during school breaks, so to my knowledge, that idea remains "an idea" only for now. I am delighted to report I will be traveling this year - to Egypt as Tech Support for a teacher who is taking a group of 8 "gifted and talented" 6th graders on tour to create an interactive website covering the Ancient Egypt curriculum! Very exciting! Then, on my b'day last week, my four children astonished my husband and me by announcing they were combining my 50 and 51st b'days, our 30th anniversary, my husband's b'day and Mother's/Father's Day into one gift................ .........a trip to Ireland, England and Scotland in the Fall!!!! Our youngest finishes high school in June and for the first time in 26 years, we will have NO UNDERAGE children at home! We are off, with gusto! This will be a genealogy trip of course ;] Unfortunately, this means there is no way I can organize an reunion either.... SO! Who of you is out there with the time and/or energy to create a gathering? Go ahead and use the list to think out loud if you want, putting our collective heads together usually produces the best results! We have a "good group" here and small and scattered tho we may be, we are very important to us, right??? It'll be fun to see what we can come up with! Jana
