Hi, Jana, Just read your item on Patrick. I think Patrick worked on the railroad after he went West. He was there when the rails met--he was working from the East and there were crews working from the West. I can't remember when the two sides met, but I think they drove a gold spike in for the last one. My memory isn't clear about this, but I remember Mama telling about it.
