Greetings! I am searching for an elusive part of my grandmother's family - those pesky, disappearing Kerwins! Edward Kerwin was born in Java Center, New York in 1870. His father, James, was born in 1835 in Java Center as well. James married Kate O'Brien (b. 1837 in Co. Wexford) and had at least two sons. Edward married Mary Eleanor Dodge on 25 Dec. 1902 in Kinzua, PA. I believe James owned a store in Java; my mother has the daybook. I haven't found them in Wyoming County census records.
