repost of info from Chris Bodor, reply to him @<poetnoise@flotsam.com> or check out his page at http://members.tripod.com/~Chris_Bodor/index.html Hello Kirwans - A fellow named Bob Gregory is looking for information on Michael Frances M. F. Kirwan Manufacturing of O'Neill, Nebraska. Bob is an antique fishing lure collector and according to his reference books, M. F. Kirwan Manufacturing produced a fishing lure in 1923. It was made of wood in the shape of an egg and it was called Kirwan's Bad Egg. Bob belongs to the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club and he is thinking about writing an article on the Bad Egg for the club magazine. There were very few fishing lures manufactured in Nebraska and he thinks a story on Kirwan's Bad Egg would be of interest to the club membership. Many of the Kirwans in Boyd County have already been contacted. It is known that he was born in Cameron, Nebraska on April 22 nd, 1870. Also, he boxed in the Golden Gloves in the 1890's and that later he was a barber in O'Neill. Bob Gregory would like to know about M. F. Kirwan Manufacturing and the story behind Kirwan's Bad Egg. Development, testing, manufacturing, painting, advertising, distribution, pricing, etc. Anything you can do to help will be appreciated.
