Hello, I'm reseaching the line of John H. Kirkpatrick born May 1741, reportedly in Dumfriesshire, Scotland. It is believed he was in the colomies by about 1850. He married Jane/Jeane Wilkins in PA(?) ca 1760, They resided in Virginia, North Carolina, and Eastern Tennessee. Their children were as follows: DAVID S. KIRKPATRICK B 27 FEB 1760 IN Rockingham Co. Va MARRIAH " B 11 FEB 1762 " " " " HUGH " B 26 SEPT 1763 " " " " RACHEL " B 1 MARCH 17765 " " " " JOHN " B 16 OCT 1766 " " " " JACOB " B 1 NOV 1771 " " " " JAMES " B 23 AUG 1773 " " " " WILKINS " B 14 AUG 1775 " " " " HANNAH " B 6 MARCH 1779 IN BULLS GAP. TN John was a Revolutionary War soldier from a NC regiment. Some say John H. Kirkpatric was the son of WILLIAM KIRKPATRIC and MARGARET WAUGH of PA, but i have found doccuments and other information that seems to strongly dispute this claim. WE feel his was one of the younger sons of ALEXANDER KIRKPATRICK of WATTIES NEUK near Ruthwell in DUMFRIESSHIRE, SCOTLAND. I'm open to anything that will help me clarify his parentage.
