But, I would like to see this original document returned to a member of the original family. My mother-in-law bought a picture frame at an estate sale in Tucson, AZ. When she took the picture out and removed the cardboard from behind it, a very delicate, old, and yellowed piece of paper fell out. This is a summary of what was written and readable on the paper: =========================================== Civil War Discharge Paper For: Mark CROSBY, Jr. Private, Company B, 16th Regiment Union Army >From Yarmouth, Massachussetts Entered service in 1860 and left service 1864 Marked Paid and signed by B. McCONNELL Description: 5 ft. 3 inches, gray eyes, dark curly hair. He was a clerk in the Union Army. Entered in the Auditors records on July 26, 1870 This document bears the Union Crest. ================================================= Help me post this for others to read. If you know someone who might be interested in this document, please E-Mail a reply to my inquiry. A life is not lost when it is known to future generations. Help me keep Mark CROSBY, Jr. alive for his family. Forward this message to anywhere you think might help. Happy Hunting! Nancy J. Smith [email protected]
