I am researching the following KIRKPATRICK family from Martic Twp., Lancaster Co., PA - 1700's Related names: BARCLAY, CALDWELL, McLAUGHLIN, GARDNER, CHANDLER, BURROUGHS, FOSTER & RITZLER. Alex. KIRKPATRICK - his will of 1746 - names sons ***Samuel, Alexander & "Elebith" (Elizabeth). Wife not mentioned, mentions a a sister Agnes & a bro. in law Hugh CALDWELL. Alex. died 1747. Children Alex. & Elebith are minors. ***Samuel KIRKPATRICK - his will of 1788 - names son Samuel & daughters Jane, Margaret & **Elizabeth wife of Thos. BARCLAY Wife not mentioned, mentions bro in law Geo. MCLAUGHLIN. Samuel Sr. died 1788. He served in the Rev. War, from Martic Twp. **Elizabeth KIRKPATRICK prob. married Thos BARCLAY in Martic Twp. bef. 1785. There were 8 issues of the marriage. Thos. appears in the 1790 US census in Martic Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. Not in the 1800 census. Might have gone to Washington Co., PA for several years & then to Belpre, Washington Co., OH by abt. 1808. Issues of the marriage: most married Washington Co., OH *Mary "Polly" b. 1785 m.
