KIRKPATRICK Dr. John KIRKPATRICK married a Hannah (maiden name, date, and place not known) (Morrison??) and had Virginia, Mahalia, Elisha, John David, and Gordon. They lived in Belleview, Washington County, Missouri in 1830 and he died before 1840. She is on the census in 1850. Daughter Virginia KIRKPATRICK married Joseph Campbell MOYER in the early 1850s in Belleview, Washington (now Iron) County, Missouri. Elisha Kirkpatrick was married twice. First he married Mary Shelton, sister of Smith Gamble Breckenridge's first wife, Jane Shelton; then Elisha married as his second wife, her sister, Philiscab (Yes, that is right! Can you imagine burdening a baby with that name?)Shelton. [Shelton is connected with Augusta County, Virginia too. And the names MORRISON, DABNEY, HARRISON.] I have information on a David Kirkpatrick in Washington County, Missouri at the same time. I would love to prove a connection between Dr. John and Rev. David, whose wife was Jane HUGHES. Does this sound familiar? Can you help with any specific history or data? Does anyone have their ancestry? Was Dr. John related to Rev. David KIRKPATRICK? I would greatly appreciate any help you can give. Please reply privately, so as not to clog the list. I have plenty of connections to Presbyterians who spread out from Bucks County, PA to Lancaster-Chester county line and branches broke off to go on to Augusta County, Wythe, Washington VA; Iredell County, NC; and near Ninety-Six, SC. I would love to find a thread linking all these together with my KIRKPATRICK line, which I have not traced back beyond 1830 in MO. Please keep me in mind if you discover either a David (m.Jane HUGHES with maternal CAMPBELL, ROBINSON lines) or John (m. Hannah) KIRKPATRICK, born c 1800.
