I am in search of the correct children of James KIRKPATRICK b Aug 21, 1787 VA & d Mar 21, 1862 Anderson Co, TN, m Susannah LEWALLEN m/d unk. She was b abt 1792 Anderson Co, TN & d Dec 28, 1857 Anderson Co, TN. They are bu Offutt Cem, Anderson Co, TN. James KIRKPATRICK'S father was ALEXANDER KIRKPATRICK b abt 1735 & d abt 1806 Anderson Co,TN. SUSANNAH was the dau of Richard LEWALLEN & he is my 4th great g/father. The Henderson & Co land survey consisted of 200,000 acres extending down the Clinch River Valley from VA about 30 miles & covering an area about two miles wide on each side of the river. The first land purchase from Henderson & Co was by Andrew Jackson, a land speculator and later President of the U S. In 1801 Alexander Kirkpatrick bought 100 acres for $1.00 an acre from Andrew Jackson and in 1802 Alexander Kirkpatrick again bought 100 acres for $1,00 an acre. In 1804 Alexander Kirkpatrick sold 80 acres to John Kirkpatrick for the sum of $200. The children I have for James & Susannah are: 1-Margaret Ann Kirkpatrick b Aug 11, 1811 An/Co, TN & d aft 1873 An/Co, TN & m Oct 28, 1848 An/Co, TN to Austin L Moore. 2-Alexander Kirkpatrick b Oct 24 1812 An/Co, TN & d Aug 16, 1890 & m 1st Permelia Galbraith Aug 13, 1839 An/Co, TN; 2nd, Oct 10, 1844 An/Co, TN to Kathryn Shinliver b Oct 17, 1815 & d Dec 11, 1897 An/Co, TN. They are bu Sinking Springs Cem, An/Co, TN. 3-John L Kirkpatrick b abt 1817 & may have died Mar 19, 1847??? 4-Ann S Kirkpatrick b abt 1833. Never married. 5-Elizabeth H Kirkpatrick b abt 1826 & m May 15, 1861 An/Co, TN to L F Ragsdale. 6-Malinda S "Milly Kirkpatrick b abt 1828 & m Sept 8, 1857 An/Co, TN to Milton Maupin. 7-Mary S Kirkpatrick b abt 1835 & m Oct 8, 1846 An/Co, TN to A M Goodykoontz. 8-C L Kirkpatrick b&d unk. Don't know if he is a son??? 9-Robert L Kirkpatrick b&d unk. Don't know if he is a son??? I have very limited information on the children & their spouses, birth & death dates, the grandchildren, etc. In the 1860 Anderson Co, TN Census Records: list a Robert Kirkpatrick 68, b abt 1792 VA, possible brother to James. He is buried in Ross Cem & listed as Rev Robert Kirkpatrick b Jan 2, 1790 & d Nov 14, 1864, War of 1812. The John Kirkpatrick purchasing 80 acres is a possible brother to James who purchased the original property. I may have some of James & Robert's children confused??? I would appreciate any help.
