Apparently came to IL>WI>IA area shortly after 1810; living in WI (Iowa Co., MI Territory) in 1830, in Dubuque Co., IA in 1840, Tn. of Platteville, Grant Co., WI, in 1850. Father's name may have been Hugh, mother's Sarah, possibly brothers named John F., Thomas, William, perhaps others. Children Mary L. (my GGGM, married Lewis Williams), John D. (killed in action in Civil War), Jas. R. (or H.?), Elizabeth C., Sarah S., Eliza C. and several others, names may have been Hugh, Thomas, Jefferson.
