Ron Klein I am interested in James Kirkpatrick (the immigrant) b about 1710 in Nithsdale, Dumfriesshire, Scotland who died 9 May 1786 in Lockhart,Chester, SC  and his son James Kirkpatrick believed born 1743 in PA, who died on 1 January 1781 when he was murdered in his home by neighboring Tories following a battle by his patriot unit that was a huge defeat to the Tories. James, the Patriot, is my 5th gr-grandfather. The line descends directly from Sir Roger Kirkpatrick who finalized the deaths of double agent Comyn and his Uncle in 1306 at the Church which is the origin of the I Mak Sikkar expression and the bloody dagger as part of the family crest.
