 Greetings, We started this organization because we noticed a lot of Kir/Kil/GilFitz-patricks, unlike other more organized clans, are without a feeling of family unity or of "belonging" to a larger family.  We hope that this KFA (Kirkpatrick Family Association) will help unite us. You asked for a few words to describe what our plans and goals are.  Generally they are as follows: We are a newly formed informal (not incorporated) Family Association that is open to any Kirkpatrick,Kilpatrick, Gilpatrick, Fitzpatrick (or any other recognizable spelling) descendant who is at least 18 years of age and their spouses. Our goals are… [1] to bring the different branches of the Kirkpatrick family together, [2] to educate our members about the history of our Kirkpatrick ancestors, [3] to identify members interested in Kirkpatrick genealogical and DNA research, [4] to have a positive presence at the various Scottish/Highland/Celtic games and festivals, and finally, [5] to celebrate everything Kirkpatrick. We will have a newsletter that will be available on line/ via email and a print version will be mailed to members not on the internet.  I envision it having stories on ancient and modern Kirk/Kil/Gil/Fitz-patricks, queries and posting of obituaries.
