I am Sandra Taylor Casey, a 2nd great granddaughter of Jesse Jackson Kirkpatrick. He lived in Illinois from 1804-1864 and fought in the Blackfoot Indian War in the Illinois militia. I would very much like to join the Kirkpatrick website. stc ________________________________ From: Tom Caulley <tcaulleysgenmail@yahoo.com> To: kirkpatrick@rootsweb.com Sent: Mon, March 25, 2013 11:50:50 AM Subject: [KIRKPATRICK] Kirkpatrick's of Closeburn etc Cheryl, Thanks for your interest in the Kirkpatrick /Kilpatrick Clans Org. website. I tried finding your tree on Ancestry.com, but there are no less than 25 trees containing your Alexander, and couldn't figure which one is yours. Can you send me a link? Also, I'm very interested in the Kirkpatricks who can prove descent from the "Sir Roger Core Family of Closeburn, Scotland" since we are trying to get one of the proven male descendants to have a Y-DNA test run to establish a "Kirkpatrick baseline-DNA." Then ALL Kirkpatrick researchers could compare their Y-DNA to the core and either prove, or disprove a connection to the Closeburn Clan. I am assuming Kirkpatrick is your married name? If it is, can you prove your Kirkpatricks back to the Closeburn clan AND, if yes, would your husband, or another of his male relatives be interested in supplying us with a DNA sample? I've been in contact with Sir Ivone (11th Baronet)'s niece in Australia. She has asked both her uncle and her brother (her father is deceased) if they would give us a sample. Her uncle said no, and her brother hasn't replied as of yet -- it's been over a month so I'm not too hopeful he'll say yes. Anyway, I've entered you as a member of the web site. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
