This lady is supposed to be the sister of Sir Robert Kirkpatrick who lost his life in 1746 as results of wounds suffered a year before. Robert was styled as "of Glenkiln." Need any information on Anne/Roseanne and her parents as well as siblings.
Need Parents of Robert & Martha KIRKPATRICK. Looking for information on Margaret Kirkpatrick who married William Henry Oldaker, late 1700s.
FYI I don't know if anybody is researching this line of the Kirkpatricks or not. My grandmother, Goldie Belle Kirkpatrick, maiden name was Newberry (widow of Robert Sylvester Kirkpatrick), Richland Center, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, March 20 ,1998. She was buried on Tuesday, March 24, 1997 at the Richland Center Cemetary.
Hi Everyone, Our Kirkpatrick family is planning a gathering in the year 2000. Were in the beginning of the planning, however since we've never done this before we'd like to ask a question. For those of you who have been to reunions and gatherings, what do they consist of? What is done? If any one out there can give us some hints we'd sure like to know as much as we can before we get to far into it. We were thinking about having this gathering near a place where they will be having the Scottish Games that year, but what happens other than that? I'd appreciate any information any one could give. Thank you! [email protected]
I am researching my ancestor Daniel McConnell who arrived in Chester Co. (became Lancaster Co. in 1729) in 1723 with his father John from Dumfriesshire, SCT. Supposedly Daniel was born in 1710, but there is a problem with his wife and children; according to Boucher's History of Westmoreland Co., Daniel married Peggie Kirkpatrick (date unknown) and had 7 children: Samuel, David, Hugh, Daniel, Mary, Elizabeth, and Martha. But, according to the Mormon Ancestral File, the same-named children were born to him and a Mary McCommons McC. between ~1759 and 1770. According to her file in the AF, she was born about 1759 and died 1811. Something is wrong with this picture! Daniel's will twice mentions his wife Mary, so there is some confusion here. Since the Kirkpatrick name appears in later generations as a middle name and McCommons doesn't, I think maybe Peggie was his first wife and bore the children and that Mary was his 2nd wife and outlived him. Does anyone have dates, etc. on a Peggie Kirkpatrick who lived in Lancaster Co., Colerain Township, PA in the mid-1700's? Many thanks. D. Jack MacConnell [email protected]
Hello, from not so sunny Arizona! After a year of hitting a brick wall I can see a little daylight ahead. I have recently found out that my gggrandfather, Thomas A. KIRKPATRICK sold his farm in Johnson Co. KS in 1881 and moved to norhteastern Missouri. Thomas and his wife Rachel lived in Johnson Co. for just a short time, my ggrandfather James stayed in KS to continue on the Brick Making business. I'm seeking any information on the following KIRKPATRICK's that lived in Memphis, Jefferson Twp, Scottland Co., MO. Mathew KIRKPATRICK m. Fanny NEAL 25 Jan 1865. Mathew was a Brick Maker by trade, they had 10 children. In the 1900 census only 6 of those 10 children were still living. I have Mathew in Scottland Co. in 1870 with 2 children, Florence, 5 and Charles, 2. In 1880 with 5 children , Mary 8, a daughter 6, a son 4, Robert 2 and Roy 1. In 1900 with 2 children, Thomas 19 and Ethel 14. Mathew was born in OH Feb 1845. Margaret KIRKPATRICK m. John GOLLIKER(GOLLIHER) 4 July 1865. John is listed on the 1870 census just under Mathew, he also is a Brick Maker. On this same page there is listed J.M. CLIFFORD and Fanny CLIFFORD, J.M. is listed as a Brick Maker also. Margaret was born in OH 1846. Sarah KIRKPATRICK m. Norman HAMBLETON 13 MAy 1860. Sarah born in OH 1842. Does any of this information ring a bell. Thank you in advance, Becky Sievers
Looking for descendants and antecedents of Joseph Milton Kirkpatrick/Kilpatrick. b. ca 1766 d. 1850 Haywood Co., NC. It is said he married Martha Harrison, d/of Nathaniel Harrison and his wife Rachel. They were married in Rutherford Co., NC. Joseph used the name Kilpatrick when he married Martha Harrison but later the family changed to the named Kirkpatrick.(This is all second hand information, but I have found him in the 1850 census of Haywood Co., NC living with his son Silas Fain Kirkpatrick, whose descndants are listed in ANNALS OF HAYWOOD CO, NC, by W. C. Allen.)Several other sons are attributed to Joseph Kirpatrick, in cluding Lewis H. Kirkpatrick who married Cassandra Wilkins, daughter of or possibly grandaughter of Isaac Wilkins whose estate was settled in 1820 in Haywood Co., NC. Would appreciate any further information in this family. Thanks, Jane

Please let us know if you have a success story as a result!: LIST OF UNCLAIMED UNION CIVIL WAR MEDALS AT THE WEST VIRGINIA STATE ARCHIVES In order to claim an ancestor's medal, a claimant must submit his or her line of descent from the veteran along with documentation to support this line of descent. To establish line of descent, claimants must include copies of primary sources, including birth, death, marriage, will, deed, military, census, Bible records, etc. Old letters, diaries, marriage announcements, or obituaries may also prove helpful in verifying a descendant's claim. I hope you are all recovering nicely from the holiday and Santa brought you all your heart desired and your pocketbook could support. We had a nice Christmas here in snowy New Mexico, all are safe and reasonably well. Can't ask for more than that! I would like to take just a moment to encourage all of you who enjoy this, or any of the RootsWeb offerings, to consider making even a small donation to the genealogy cause. As with all good things, books, cds, microfilm, whatever, the equipment and bandwidth used by RootsWeb cost money and someone has to cough it up. We are never charged a fee for using these services so it is up to us, on a stictly volunteer basis, to help make it all happen. If you are interested, and are in a position to make even a small donation, please visit their web site for instructions: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/how-to-subscribe.html Thanks for allowing me this 'commercial', they will not happen very often, promise! If anyone has comments or needs more information, please email me privately. I do want to comment that we have to have one of the best lists, even tho not very active, because we have survived to date without the petty comments and 'flaming' that is so irritating on a number of the ones I belong to personally. Thanks for all of your support, you are all greatly appreciated. As we are entering a new year, please don't hesitate to repost your own data, queries, or share new web pages with us. We are growing and changing so let's keep our information cycling. Thanks! Joyce
